Reflection 2/3/22

Today in Mr.Rease's American Literature we analyzed a Maya Angelou poem. The Black Family Pledge goes over how African Americans does not pass down their knowledge. Because our traditions aren't passed down we are uneducated and at the bottom of the "food chain". I've read some of Maya Angelou's poems and they are amazing. I'm glad Mr.Rease didn't just start making us read black poets, and we have been all school year.

Reflection 2/10/22

Today in Mr.Rease’s American Literature class we made a commercial. In the commercial we compare two competing restaurants, Popeyes and Chick-fil-A. We had to make the commercial using rhetorical strategies. We planned the commercial then acted it out. I think we did a pretty good job executing all the points, I ran out of breath because we did a lot, lol.

Reflection 10/4/21

Reflection 2/7/2022

Today in Mr.Rease's American Literature class we went over Steps to Write a Good Rhetorical Analysis. We went over a College Board Prompt to get prepared for the real thing. It was eulogy by Margaret Thatcher on Ronald Reagan. The steps are to read and analyze, identify rhetorical situations, read the passage, and plan the essay. It looked like Mr.Rease was about to put on a video so I put my head down, I was really tired. I have to go to work at 5 and don't know when I was going to take a nap. I believe I over-napped, I'm not sure what happened in those minutes I missed. I always regret falling asleep in class because I always miss something. But hey, all of my teachers posted today and I have all A's with three AP classes, so I'm pretty happy about that. I think i'm going to start drinking energy drinks.
